This morning, our permit application team got the notice from Tibet Tourism Bureau about permit application from late August to early September:
From Aug.23 morning, they can only accept permit application for tour after Sept.13.
From Sept.1 to Sept.7, Tibet will hold the great Shoton Festival. During the period, all workers will enjoy their vacation and the staff of Tibet Tourism Bureau do the same. Normally, the time of permit application is at least 7 working days and the travel agency need get customers’ passports and China Visa at least 14 days in advance. Now, the travel agency need get customers’ passports and China Visa at least 20 days in advance.
In addition, there is another two long-period vacations in the following months: one is Middle Autumn Festival from Sept.15 to Sept.17 and another is National Day from Oct.1 to Oct.7. If you want to travel to Tibet in September or early October, please try to confirm your itinerary 20 days in advance and ask your Tibet Local Travel Agency to help apply for your Tibet Entry Permit. Otherwise, it is possible that you will receive your Tibet Travel Permit in time.
